There are a range of National Institute for Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines to provide professionals with information to get residents more active. The guidelines are for physical activity and how it should be embedded in wider areas.
NICE guidance and quality standards
Whether you are a GP, social worker or volunteer befriender, there are free virtual training and E-learning courses for you to do. The training will increase your knowledge, skills and confidence when promoting physical activity. It will also help empower patients and clients to be more active.
Training for healthcare professionals
Physical activity profile Buckinghamshire 2025 - this profile supports the strategy, provides information about levels of physical activity and summarises indicators of health and wellbeing in Bucks and the four district areas.
This strategy has been adopted by the Buckinghamshire Health and Wellbeing Board. This is the key partnership for promoting the health and wellbeing of residents.
Different organisations are working together to achieve the aims of the strategy by:
- increasing levels of activity by encouraging inactive residents into regular activity
- increasing the number of residents achieving Chief Medical Officer guidelines for physical activity
